Situated right in front of Yamashita Park and looking out to the Yokohama Bay, Hotel New Grand is a renowned classic hotel with nearly a century of first-class hospitality. Everything was wonderful! The hotel is beautiful, staff is extremely friendly and genuine, the views from our room were amazing! This was the nicest hotel my family has ever stayed at! I don’t know how we managed to get a room on the 16th floor with access to the Club Lounge, but I highly recommend it if you are able to book into a similar room.

The hotel was definitely older but clean and well maintained. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They even gave our kids some lollies when we arrived. The buffet dinner was amazing with lots of options and quality food. The sushi was fabulous and the kids loved the warm chocolate sauce with ice-cream and chocolate cake. The onsens were great and it was fabulous having the use of another hotel's onsen with both inside and outside onsens. We loved the traditional rooms, gowns and Japanese beds. The views were lovely too with all the greenery plus we could hear a waterfall.

Location - within walking distance to the Hakone-Yumoto station. Also close to the bus stop (we took the bus from Odawara to the hotel and also from the hotel to Hakone Checkpoint). Food - Dinner and breakfast were amazing. Well prepared and served. Room and Onsen - we got upgraded to room with private onsen bath due to some ongoing renovation. Room was perfect and exactly what we look forward to experience - traditional ryokan and onsen. Staff - all lovely, respectful and accommodating.

Amazing place to stay! Great location, right beside Gora station. The building and facilities were beautiful and we loved the little tea/coffee room. The staff were so pleasant and tried their best to accommodate and help us. The private onsen were excellent but the rooms with the balcony bath / indoor-outdoor shower were divine. We embraced the samui and yukata wearing as much as possible and loved every second of our stay there. Definitely check out the spa facilities as well! This hotel was the highlight of our trip!
